Posted in : Modeling

(added 10 hours ago)

We hear that Sonam Kapoor has been actively involved with cancer awareness for around five years now, although that’s not something she likes to talk about. When asked about it, here’s what Sonam hesitatingly replied: “Yes, I have been working on this for a while now. I lost one of my aunts to cancer, so it’s a cause that is close to my heart.”

Sonam Kapoor Favors SMOKEFREE Electronic Cigarettes

Posted in : Gossips

(added 1 days ago)

Sonam Kapoor Favors SMOKEFREE Electronic CigarettesSonam Kapoor promotes use of SMOKEFREE electronic cigarettes as an alternative to smoking. Sonam Kapoor is also advocating not smoking and recently took to Twitter to highlight electric cigarettes. She posted this comment: "Smoking is seriously not good! There are electric cigs available now. A lot of my friends are using them."

Says Sonam, "I know of people who smoke e-ciggies to give up smoking or cut down on the number of cigarettes per day. I am no expert in the matter, but I feel anything that takes you away from the ill-effects of smoking is a good thing. I find it ridiculous that the government has a problem with smoking on screen, but isn't ready to do anything about the social effects of smoking off screen. I think it's extremely rude for anyone to blow smoke or smoke around a non-smoker. I have grown up reading Ayn Rand and watching pop culture that shows its 'cool' to smoke. I am okay with playing a character that is required to smoke on screen, but I want to do everything possible to tell people how bad this habit is. In today's age, everyone wants to look good and feel good, so I feel that lot of youngsters who do yoga, or Pilates or find a holistic way of life will want to give up smoking. I think electric cigarettes are good because they create the effect and feel of smoking without actually having to put nicotine and tobacco in your body."

“A lot of female smokers prefer e-ciggies because they don't stain teeth, ruin your gums and keep hair and clothes odour-free. Also you don't need an ashtray. It's the new cool way to smoke,” concludes Sonam. About SMOKEFREE, India’s #1 E Cigarette Company

SMOKEFREE is your best place to Buy Electronic Cigarette Online in India & is a Registered Trademark of AS SMOKEFREE Electronic Cigarette Pvt. Ltd. with Registered Office in New Delhi. I’m a mango snob : Sonam Kapoor

Posted in : Gossips

(added 7 days ago)

Sonam Kapoor : I love the summer. Yes it’s intensely hot and humid here in Mumbai. You can feel the tar melt under your colourful kolhapuri chappals, makeup refuses to stay on your face and the embarrassing sweat patches just keep forming on you’re clothes whose stains never seem to go. So what is it about the summer besides the numerous cold baths, international or hill station travels that actually makes staying put on flat land worthwhile! Hapoos as we living in Maharashtra call it, or the delicious ripe amazing Alphonso as the rest of the world calls it.

I’m a mango snob : Sonam Kapoor

Once a year this delicious and very expensive fruit comes in season, and it makes even the ‘loo’ in Delhi worth bearing. It’s like God’s way of rewarding us that clearly says that this is your wonderful prize for bearing this excruciating heat.

For me it’s the best replacement for dessert. I eat one mango a day in the night right before I sleep, it’s a reward for being good with my meals, withstanding the heat of Bombay and dealing with the stress of work. Even my dietician condones it and that my friend is my golden ticket to indulgence.

I like all forms of mango ... whether it is raw, ripe, cooked,  pickled (achaar) chutneyed or decorative. I even like it as a print on my clothes (paisley).  Even though Alphonso is my favourite, I can eat every other type of mango. And to break the long standing myth, mango is not ‘heaty’. I’ve never once broken out into a pimple or heat boil because of my precious mango. Obviously the whole world now knows of almost every Indians’ obsession with the king of fruits and has decided to cash in on it.

Dunkin’ Donuts has created a special mango flavour just for India, ice cream brands, cold drinks and even frozen yogurt is mango flavoured. But I’m a mango snob and I’m just not ok with artificial flavours of mango in my dessert or drink. I want the real stuff! I want that pulpy rich taste that comes from the real deal and I will not compromise on that ever!

Posted in : Gossips

(added 7 days ago)

Don’t you gaze at your favorite celebrities with admiration tinged with envy? Don’t you drool over that perfect body and wish you were like that?FYI (For Your Inspiration) are two stunning young ladies who lost their extra pounds and set the Bollywood arena on fire.Sonam Kapoor lost around 60kgs for the film Sawariya. She was a self-confessed foodie. Now she’s a big fan of the low-carb high protein diet and the 5 meals a day theory. This is how her diet goes:

Sonam Kapoor & Sonakshi Sinha: weight-loss diets

She starts her day with a tall glass of lukewarm water and follows it up with another glass of warm honey and limewater. She also drinks a lot of fluids throughout the day like coconut water, cucumber juice and buttermilk.

Breakfast: Oatmeal and fruits

Noon snack: Brown bread with egg whites and protein shake

Lunch:  Dal, veggies, roti and grilled chicken or fish

Evening Snack: Brown bread with egg whites

Dinner: Soup, salad, grilled chicken or fish

She also drinks tea without sugar and munches on dry fruits through out the day. She carries fruits while travelling to avoid hunger pangs.

Her exercise regime consists of everything including weight training, yoga and plies. When she gets the time she plays squash and takes a swim. She followed this routine for a year and lost 30 kg.
Sonakshi Sinha lost 30kgs for the film Dabaang. She too, is a foodie by nature who led a sedentary lifestyle and survived on junk food. Her weight loss regime consisted of rigorous exercise and this diet:

Breakfast: Cereal and milk or whole-wheat toast Mid morning: Some dry fruits and a cup of green tea Lunch: Homemade roti and sabzi with salad Evening: A fruit or a cup of green tea

Dinner is usually early and consists of only protein food. She does not have carbohydrates after 6 pm. She now takes small meals every three to four hours.  Sonakshi’s advice for all those who wish to lose weight: Stop eating carbohydrates after six in the evening and drink several cups of green tea throughout the day.

Exercise regularly with a professional trainer to lose weight systematically. Ultimately, there are no short cuts to losing weight. Being disciplined, determined and not losing hope for the entire period till one reaches the target weight is essential.

Sonakshi Sinha firmly believes that losing weight is not only about seeing shrinking numbers on the weighing scale but it is an emotional journey where you need to be determined to sacrifice your favorite foods to achieve your goal.
